Who Can Enter

2025 BC BEER AWARDS RULES AND REGULATIONS

Participating breweries must meet the following Eligibility Criteria:

Be a member of the BC Craft Brewers Guild (BCCBG)

OR

Brewery holds a valid Canadian excise duty license
Brewery is licensed to brew beer by a provincial authority
Brewery produced less than 400,000 hectolitres of beer in 2024
The brewery is at least 75% BC owned

The BC Beer Awards is a blind tasting competition that judges beers based on the 2021 Beer Judge Certification Program Style Guidelines.

Judging

Qualified judging of all entries is our primary goal.
Judges will evaluate & score each entry.
Category ranking determined by a mini Best of Show.
Each flight will have at least one BJCP judge.
A single beer cannot be entered in multiple sub-/categories.
Multiple vintages of the same beer may not be entered.
Categories may be combined based on number of entries.
Best of Show judging is based on second judging of top winners.

Registration

Log in to the Beer Awards Platform and find our event. The BAP system is our portal where you can view the competition details, submit entries, print entry labels, and pay fees. If you do not already have an account there, you can create one.

Entry Fees

BCCB Guild Members: $75 plus tax per entry. Members must be in good standing. If you are not sure, please contact Lundy at moc.reebtfarccbobfsctd-4edd5c@nimda. As a bonus, if you submit more than three entries, your first entry is FREE. A code will be sent to you via email. A maximum of 15 entries per brewery.

Non Members: $100 plus tax per entry. A maximum of 15 entries per brewery.

Refund/Cancellation Policy

No refunds for unshipped entries after the shipping deadline date: September 5, 2025.

Step 2: Ship Your Entries (Aug 25 – Sept 5)

Allow time for shipping to ensure entries are received between August 25- September 5, 2025.
No refunds for unshipped entries after September 5, 2025.

Labels

All entries must have their own printed, official Bottle ID label affixed with tape. The commercial label must not be removed. If the beer does not have a commercial label, it may be entered with the competition label alone.

Packaging

Breweries must submit either one 6-pack or 4 individual bottles/cans for each entry. Each bottle/can may have a minimum volume of 250mL and a maximum volume of 1L.

Packing

All entries must be packed in a box suitable for 650mL/750mL/1L bottles, including six-packs and growlers. Boxes must be packed to be stackable at the drop-off location.

Liability

The competition organizers are not responsible for mis-categorized entries, mailed entries that are not received by the entry deadline, or entries that arrive damaged.
